Just Keep Swimming, just keep swimming... what do we do we swim, swim, swim...

Dori the fish is what I like to refer to as a cock-eyed optimist. It brings to mind Proverbs 17:22: A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.

I watched Finding Nemo this afternoon and was struck by the constant positivity that was shown by Dori. One scene that particularly struck me was, when they were in the whale and she had no clue what would happen next, she just let go... remember that reckless abandon? What do we have to fear?

Romans 8:38-39 remind us: For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
The Bible also says that we should be anxious for nothing... this does not mean that we will be spouting rainbows and unicorns each day that we are alive... but it say that we should rejoice in the Lord always. In the good and in the bad... we can rejoice that God will never let go of us... Matt Redman wrote one such song:
Never Let Go.

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death
Your perfect love is casting out fear
And even when I'm caught in the middle of the storms of this life
I won't turn back
I know you are near

And I will fear no evil
For my God is with me
And if my God is with me
Whom then shall I fear?
Whom then shall I fear?

(Chorus:)
Oh no, You never let go
Through the calm and through the storm
Oh no, You never let go
In every high and every low
Oh no, You never let go
Lord, You never let go of me

And I can see a light that is coming for the heart that holds on
A glorious light beyond all compare
And there will be an end to these troubles
But until that day comes
We'll live to know You here on the earth

Yes, I can see a light that is coming for the heart that holds on
And there will be an end to these troubles
But until that day comes
Still I will praise You, still I will praise You

Let your heart rejoice in the Lord always and your heart will always be full of the joy of the Lord.... when you awaken each morning, are you grumbling about the tasks you need to complete or do you wake with a joyful and thankful heart?
