Love came down at Christmas
Love all lovely, love divine
Love was born at Christmas
Star and angel gave the sign
Worship we the Godhead
Love incarnate, love divine
Worship we our Jesus
Love shall be our token
Love shall be yours and love be mine
Love to God and all men
Love for plea and gift and sign
The third candle is the candle of love. The first bit of John 3:16 reads: For God so LOVED the world...
Gor created the world and when it fell into sin, He loved it so much that He sent His son to save us.
Last week we meditated on the hope that we have at Christmas; this week focuses on the love of God and Jesus. Jesus gave his life because of that love... he took on our sin, our shame and our debt. He cleared our names so that we could experience his love in our own lives.
William Walker write the hymn What Wondrous Love is this, O My Soul and I love the words, they express just how much we are loved... and, in my case, I often take it for granted, or am selfish with the love I was given... I want to keep it for myself, instead of share it.
During this week, we remember God's love and how He sent His Son to help us and to give us the example of perfect love.... Our response to this should be to share it with those around us. Let us worship him and share His love with others this holiday season!
